OUR WORK
Bill's Truck & Equipment Sales
A dealer storefront for flatbeds, service bodies and truck equipment, with the inventory system the team runs it from. Units go up, get priced and get sold from a phone on the lot.

THE PROBLEM
The sales side had just been separated from the repair business, and it had no presence of its own.
Bill's Truck & Equipment Sales sells flatbeds, service bodies and truck equipment. Listings lived on a marketplace account and everything else came in by phone. A buyer could not see what was on the lot before calling, and there was nowhere to put a unit when it landed.
Stock arrives by the semi load, so the lot turns over quickly. Some of it is repeat stock that can be reordered and some of it is one of a kind trade in, and both kinds have to go up, get priced, and come down again when they sell.
Whatever we built had to work one handed, standing next to a truck. Anything that needed a desk was not going to get used.
WHAT WE BUILT
We built the storefront on Next.js with a Payload inventory system on Postgres.
Every unit is one record, so the search, the listing and the unit page all read from the same place.
The admin is built for a phone. The team adds a unit, uploads photos, edits the price and marks it sold from the lot. Drafts can be published, marked available or sold, and cleared out in batches when a load comes in, and a listing cannot go live until it has the details a buyer needs. Photos are served from a content delivery network, and the whole site is built to be browsed on a phone.
A buyer can ask about a specific unit from that unit's page. Those questions and the general messages from the contact page land in the same inbox, where they can be marked read or replied to.
The sales business and the repair business stay clearly separate, with a footer cross link between them and nothing shared beyond it.
WHAT'S INSIDE
Searchable inventory
Flatbeds, service bodies and truck equipment in one list a buyer can narrow down.
Unit pages
Every unit gets a page of its own, built from the record the team edits.
Phone first admin
Add a unit, change a price, mark it sold, all from a phone on the lot.
One inbox
Questions about a unit and general messages arrive in the same place.
THE RESULT
The lot is online, and the team lists and sells from their phones instead of routing everything through the office.
Buyers can see what is in stock and ask about a unit before they pick up the phone.
Every message reaches the same inbox no matter where it started, so a general question about flatbeds is not treated as less important than a question about a specific truck.
The build held up well enough that we reused it as the starting point for the dealer sites we built after it.
